About the Role
The Victorian Palliative Care Advice Service (PCAS) is a free and confidential telephone-based service providing expert advice, support and guidance to clinicians, patients, families and carers across Victoria.
As a Community Palliative Care Nurse, you will use your specialist palliative care expertise to provide clinical advice, navigate callers to appropriate services, and support the delivery of high-quality palliative and end-of-life care. This role is primarily remote, with occasional attendance required at The Royal Melbourne Hospital City and Royal Park Campus. Participation in a seven-day rotating roster is required.
Key Accountabilities
In this role, you will:

Provide expert clinical advice and support relating to palliative and end-of-life care.

Conduct clinical assessment and triage to support safe and effective care decisions.

Communicate complex clinical information clearly to patients, families, carers and clinicians.

Collaborate with healthcare providers across Victoria to ensure appropriate referral and care pathways.
About You
Essential
-
Registered Nurse with significant experience in both inpatient and community palliative care settings.

Demonstrated high-level clinical assessment, triage and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
Desirable
-
Postgraduate qualification in Palliative Care or working towards completion.

Knowledge of the Victorian healthcare system and palliative care service networks.
