About the role:
Our Therapy & Family Services team provide speech language pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, and teacher of the deaf services across a number of programs, including NDIS.
We are looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to administer speech, language and listening assessments in accordance with Healthy Hearing Monitoring Guidelines in addition to providing speech pathology sessions for NDIS and Medicare clients with a hearing loss.
In this role you will be providing support to children and their families from our clinics in Taigum and Sandgate (travel between offices is required). You will have access to mentoring within the Therapy Services team and also a generous professional development budget to upskill your knowledge and experience. In addition to this we support your journey in learning Auslan via formal training and the ability to practice Auslan within a multi-disciplinary team.
You will interact with babies, children and their families supporting families’ communication choices, values and embrace Auslan as the language of the Deaf community.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
Assess children in accordance with assessment schedule and write formal reports
Plan and develop programs to meet the needs of the child
Implement therapy programs
Provide appropriate, timely and effective clinical management
Maintain up-to-date case notes and progress reports
Work independently and cooperatively within a transdisciplinary model
Providing family inclusive support.
About you:

Speech Pathology Australia Certified Practising Membership
NDIS Worker’s Screening Check
Working With Children Check/Blue Card

Knowledge and skills in Evidence-Based Practice (EBP)and principles of Family Centred Practice (FCP)
Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Demonstrated an ability to manage caseloads independently
Evidence of ongoing education/professional development relevant to the Deaf & Hard of Hearing population
Experience in Auslan highly regarded
Experience in telepractice highly regarded.
