Join Roy Morgan and help capture the travel behaviour, spending and experiences of international visitors arriving at Australia's newest airport! As a Field Research Officer, you'll work airside at Western Sydney Airport, introduce yourself on behalf of Roy Morgan, and invite international travellers to take part in an important national research project.
This is a face-to-face field role involving early-morning shifts and engaging with travellers who are generally not expecting to be approached. Your ability to build rapport quickly, communicate confidently and remain resilient will play a key role in your success.
Our Field Interviewers collect accurate, high-quality data that feeds directly into the Australian National Accounts and helps shape the future of Australia's tourism industry.
What you'll do
- Initiate conversation and engage with international travellers who are generally not expecting to be approached, and invite them to participate in the survey
- Build rapport quickly, handle refusals and objections professionally, and ensure informed consent
- Conduct accurate, structured interviews using a scripted survey format
- Accurately recite and read survey passages to participants, ensuring consistency and clarity
- Record responses, follow safety and privacy protocols, and maintain strict confidentiality
All interviews are conducted using Roy Morgan's secure systems. We provide full training, a clear field manual, and ongoing support from experienced field managers.
Essentials
- Fluent English (spoken and written) and the legal right to work in Australia
- Willingness to obtain an ASIC (paid by Roy Morgan)
- Hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle

Nice-to-have: Experience in field interviewing, customer service, hospitality, retail, community services, education, fundraising or call centre environments.
