- Deliver expert Consultation Liaison Psychiatry care across Emergency and inpatient services at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital
- Lead and shape the Mental Health Emergency Consultation and Support (MHECS) service across the District
- Develop and strengthen clinical pathways, including for complex presentations such as eating disorders
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision and coaching to MHECS clinicians and psychiatry trainees
- Partner with ED and multidisciplinary teams to improve integration between mental health and acute care
- Drive quality improvement, governance and service development initiatives across MLHD

Remuneration and incentives
Remuneration depends on your appointment type, award classification, and scope of practice. The figures below are indicative only and represent what may be earned under applicable NSW Health awards and local arrangements.
Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) Specialist
Earn up to $275.85/hour (Specialist rate + practice rate), equating to $529,632 + super for eligible contracts (based on 40 hrs/week for 48 weeks).
Or progress to Senior Specialist VMO rates, earning up to $293.75/hour, which equates to $564,000 + super (based on 40 hrs/week for 48 weeks).

- Evidence of a Medical qualification that is registrable with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Evidence of a Fellowship with the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
- Demonstrated evidence of Membership with RANZCP section of CL psychiatry as well as accredited RANZCP supervisor. Eligibility to provide services at Calvary hospital. Ability to provide 2 days per week which includes 4 hours of individual and clinical supervision of psychiatry trainee.
- Demonstrated significant experience in the field of Psychiatry and evidence of competence in skills relevant to Australian rural hospital practice, including trauma and emergency scenarios.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health service colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff and to work as an effective member of the clinical team.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education relevant to area of practice and a willingness to commit to an equitable hospital on-call roster.
- Willingness to teach medical students and other staff of the hospital when reasonably requested with demonstrated understanding of and commitment to clinical quality improvement and peer review, equal employment opportunity and Occupational Health Safety and Rehabilitation.
