Position Title: CNC/Plasma Operator (Metal Machinist) (full-time)
Location: 42 Mercantile Way, Malaga, WA, 6090
Salary: 115000-122000 AUD annually
Hours: 57,5-60 hours a week
A CNC/Plasma Operator (Metal Machinist) is responsible for setting up and operating machinery and equipment to manufacture wear-resistant steel components in accordance with technical drawings, specifications, and production requirements. The role includes material handling, quality inspections, basic machine maintenance, and supporting production activities while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Alloy Steel International's quality standards.
· Setting and operating machinery to produce metal stock with precision, and based on drawings, specifications and production requirements;
· Running steel material;
· Loading and unloading material;
· Monitoring machine performance during operation and making occasional adjustments to programs as needed;
· Interpreting blueprints and technical drawings;
· Loading and running CNC programs;
· Inspecting and measuring cut parts to ensure accuracy and quality;
· Identifying and addressing any issues or defects;
· Ensuring parts meet required specifications;
· Following all safety procedures and regulations;
· Performing basic machine maintenance and cleaning;
· Troubleshooting minor machine issues;
· Assisting with production, logistics, and other general duties;
· Accurately completing production and quality control sheets.

Actively and professionally represent the organisation to industry suppliers with a key focus on developing strong sustainable relationship.

Report any safety issues identified to manager and conform to all safety when performing duties or in the workshop.
Work to be completed within a timely and professional manner. Also, to be within tolerance as required by the customer.
Cut components meet the required specifications, dimensions, and quality standards.
All work is completed within the tolerances specified on engineering drawings and customer requirements.
CNC plasma cutting operations are performed safely, efficiently, and with minimal material waste.
Jobs are completed within required production timeframes with minimal errors, rework, or machine downtime.
- A relevant Certificate III in Mechanical Trade (Machining) or similar qualification, plus at least 3 years of relevant work experience
· Ability to follow instructions, specifications, and production schedules.
· Ability to complete work accurately and within required timeframes.
· Forklift licence preferred.
· Strong teamwork and communication skills.
· Willingness to contribute ideas for improving production processes and efficiency.
· Good organisational, time management, and planning skills.
· Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously when required.
· Willingness and ability to learn new skills, equipment, and processes.
Pay: $115,000.00 – $122,000.00 per year
