At Bethanie, our work supports older Australians across the aged care sector, and the people who care for them. We offer a supportive, collaborative environment where you can do meaningful work, grow professionally and contribute to an organisation that makes a real difference.
About the role
Join a team that’s focused on doing good work, supporting people well, and making a real difference.
This is a permanent 0.8 FTE role (30.4 hours per week). Ideally worked across 5 days, but we’re open to 4 days if that suits you better. You’ll split your time across office (3 days), home (1–2 days), and regular site visits to stay connected to our teams.
This role sits within the People and Transformation Office, reporting directly to the Group Manager Human Resources. You’ll be part of an HR team that partners closely with leaders to navigate complex people matters and lift capability across the organisation.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be trusted to lead, coach and step into the tough stuff. This isn't a transactional role.
- Lead complex employee relations matters end-to-end (grievances, misconduct, performance, investigations, terminations)
- Act as a key escalation point for leaders across the business
- Provide practical, clear advice that balances risk, compliance and what’s right for our people
- Coach leaders to lift confidence and capability in managing people and performance
- Lead the enterprise bargaining process across our 3 enterprise agreements
- Review and update policies and procedures to keep them fit-for-purpose and compliant
What we’re looking for
You know ER. More importantly, you know how to apply it in a way that works in the real world.
- Strong experience in employee and industrial relations in a complex environment
- Proven experience leading enterprise agreement negotiations end-to-end
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, risk and competing priorities
- Able to step back, see the bigger picture and give balanced, practical advice
- Confident communicator who can influence, challenge and keep people on track
- Strong written and verbal communication skills – clear, structured, and to the point
- Builds trust quickly and works well with a range of stakeholders
- Tertiary qualification in HR, IR or a related field
Why this role
- Your work will directly influence how we support our people and care for our residents and customers
- You’ll be in the room for the conversations that matter, not working on the sidelines
- Real accountability across complex ER matters and enterprise bargaining
- A team that values straight advice, backs each other and gets things done
- Flexible working that works in practice, not just on paper
