About the Role
Tintern Grammar is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic educator to teach Guitar (contemporary and classical style) in our extra-curricular program, from beginner level to VCE level. The role is to commence in Term 3 and take on and build upon an existing tuition load of 11 hours, tutoring approximately 19 students. There will be a possibility of additional new enrolments during Term 3 2026. There is also the possibility of leading one or two ensembles for a candidate with the appropriate experience. Lessons currently are delivered over two days and the choice of days is somewhat open to negotiation (preferred days are Monday and Tuesday, but this can be any day except Friday). This is a casual employment contract, and the successful applicant will teach students on an individual basis. Students taking this subject range from Year 2 to Year 12 and the successful applicant must be able to relate to students across this age range.
About You
The successful applicant will have proven experience teaching this subject and excellent communication and organisational skills. Current VIT Registration or a Working With Children Check is essential. There will be scope to increase this load in the future.
Teachers will be expected to keep accurate attendance rolls, communicate regularly with parents, write ongoing assessment reports throughout the year (at least three per semester).
