Position Title
NDIS & Aged Care Community Driver
Location: Blacktown and Campbelltown Area
Position Summary
The Community Event Driver supports participants and clients under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and aged care services by providing safe, reliable, and respectful transportation to community events, social activities, appointments, and recreational outings. The role focuses on promoting independence, social inclusion, wellbeing, and community participation while ensuring clients’ safety and comfort during transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport NDIS participants and aged care clients to and from community events, appointments, and activities.
- Assist clients with entering and exiting vehicles, including mobility aid support where required.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy, fuelled, and maintained according to organisational policies.
- Follow individual transport schedules, and participant preferences.
- Provide friendly, respectful, and professional support during transport and outings.
- Monitor client wellbeing during trips and report any concerns or incidents to supervisors.
- Maintain accurate transport records, mileage logs, and incident reports.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations, infection control procedures, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Support clients in accessing the community and encouraging social engagement and independence.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, carers, coordinators, and support staff.
Skills & Qualifications
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence with a safe driving record.
- Experience working with people with disability and/or older adults preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and compassionate.
- Understanding of person-centred care principles.
- Ability to operate or assist with mobility equipment such as wheelchairs or walkers.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- National Police Check.
- Fully insured and reliable vehicle.

Work Environment

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
