About Helping Hands Behaviour Support
Helping Hands Behaviour Support (HHBS) is an NDIS-registered provider delivering evidence-based Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behaviour Support to children, young people, and their families across Melbourne. Our multidisciplinary team works 1:1 with participants in their homes, schools, and communities, with clinical oversight from experienced BCBAs. We're growing quickly and are looking for a Speech Pathologist who wants to make a genuine, measurable difference in the lives of the people we support.
The Role
As a community-based Speech Pathologist, you'll assess, plan, and deliver individualised therapy to NDIS participants, working alongside our behaviour support practitioners and BCBAs to provide truly integrated, family-centred care. You'll travel to participants within your region, delivering therapy in the natural environments where skills matter most.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, communication, and (where relevant) feeding/swallowing assessments.
- Develop, implement, and review individualised therapy plans aligned with each participant's NDIS goals.
- Deliver 1:1 therapy in home, school, and community settings.
- Collaborate with our behaviour support team to integrate communication strategies (including AAC) into broader support plans.
- Coach and upskill families, carers, and educators to embed strategies into everyday routines.
- Write clear, timely clinical documentation and NDIS progress reports.
- Maintain records and practices consistent with NDIS Practice Standards and HHBS clinical standards.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor or Master of Speech Pathology.
- Certified Practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia (CPSP or eligible).
- At least 2–3 years' experience working as a Speech Pathologist.
- Experience supporting NDIS participants and/or children with developmental differences.
- Current Australian driver's licence and reliable vehicle (this is a community-based role).
- Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience with AAC and non-verbal communicators.
- Familiarity with ABA/behaviour support frameworks.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.

Pay: $64,585.46 – $120,198.16 per year
