St Sebastian's Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is seeking enthusiastic and energetic Casual Educator to join our welcoming team. Supporting up to 60 children, our service delivers engaging Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care programs within a close-knit school community.
As a Casual Educator, you will play an important role in creating a safe, inclusive and fun environment where children can learn, grow and thrive. Working alongside our Coordinator and experienced educators, you'll help deliver meaningful experiences that encourage creativity, exploration and positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the supervision and wellbeing of primary school-aged children.
- Assist in delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities and experiences.
- Create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children.
- Build positive relationships with children, families and fellow educators.
- Encourage children's participation, creativity and independence through play-based learning.
- Contribute to the day-to-day operation of Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care programs.
- Ensure service policies, procedures and child safety practices are followed at all times.
Job Requirements:
- Certificate III or Diploma in Children Services (or working towards) or equivalent as per ACECQA guidelines would be desirable but not essential
- Current completion (or willingness to complete prior to commencement) of mandatory National Child Training (via Geckko).
- Hold a current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- A passion for the education and care of school aged children in a play-based environment
- Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place or Early Years Learning framework and National Law/Regulations or ability to acquire
- Effective oral and written communication within the workplace
