About the Role
The Business Development Manager (WA) is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding Mindflight7’s presence across Western Australia.
You will identify and develop new business opportunities, build strong relationships with schools, TAFEs, government bodies and other education stakeholders, and promote Mindflight7’s full suite of VR education products and services.
You will work closely with the broader Mindflight7 team to ensure schools and organisations are supported from first contact through to ongoing partnership.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect and develop new business opportunities across Western Australia, including schools, TAFEs, government departments and corporate clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including principals, heads of department, career counsellors and procurement teams.
- Promote and sell Mindflight7’s VR incursion programs, XR Lab subscription model and other education technology products and services.
- Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets across VR and other Mindflight7 product lines.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients, both in person and online.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach and needs assessment through to proposal, negotiation and close.
- Coordinate with operations and delivery teams to ensure a smooth handover and onboarding experience for new clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, pipeline and client communications using the company’s CRM and relevant tools.
- Attend and represent Mindflight7 at relevant education events, conferences and expos across WA and interstate where required.
- Provide regular reporting on sales activity, market insights and client feedback to the CEO and leadership team.
- Support the development of local marketing initiatives and referral networks in the WA market.
- Collaborate with the broader national team on shared goals, campaigns and business development strategies.
- Follow established company policies, procedures and authority protocols.
- Take on other ad hoc responsibilities as they arise, as discussed and agreed with the CEO.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have strong communication and relationship-building skills, a genuine interest in VR and education technology, and the drive to work independently in a fast-paced, growing company.
You’ll be comfortable managing your own pipeline, working towards targets and developing new business opportunities while also being a collaborative and supportive team member.
Experience
An ideal background for this role includes experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Business development, sales or account management in the education or technology sector
- Working with schools, TAFEs or government education stakeholders
- Experience with VR, AR or emerging technologies
- Marketing or partnerships in an education context
Working Hours & Remuneration
- Minimum commitment: 24 hours per week
- Base salary: Approximately $70,000 per annum plus commission
- Overall package: $110,000 per annum, inclusive of bonuses
- Flexible working arrangements may be considered depending on event schedules.
- Transport allowance and equipment provided where needed.
Additional Requirements
- Current driver’s licence
- Current Working with Children Check/permit
- Police check
- Regular travel within Perth and regional Western Australia may be required.
- Interstate travel may also be required and will be discussed and agreed upon in advance.
- The role may occasionally require a Saturday for testing and development purposes.

PERFORMANCE COACHING & MANAGEMENT
Mindflight7 engages in regular informal feedback and coaching sessions with staff.
Annually staff complete a performance review process where they sit down with
their manager to discuss and agree on the appropriate key performance indicators and identify any professional development needs and support required.
Pay: $70,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
