Bay City Auto Group is a well-established, family-owned automotive dealership based in Frankston, Victoria. Representing a range of leading vehicle brands, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service and providing high-quality new and used vehicles, servicing and parts to our customers. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to join our management team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our dealership.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, direct and coordinate the daily operations of the dealership's retail sales activities.
- Develop and implement sales strategies, marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns to maximise sales performance.
- Monitor sales results, budgets and key performance indicators, and prepare reports for senior management.
- Manage inventory levels, vehicle displays and stock control to ensure efficient operations.
- Recruit, train, supervise and mentor sales and administrative staff, including conducting performance reviews.
- Ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained and effectively resolve customer enquiries and complaints.
- Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturers, suppliers and finance providers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace health and safety requirements, consumer legislation and dealership procedures.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer demand to identify business opportunities.
- Oversee operational budgets, expenses and profitability while implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements
- At least 1 year of relevant full-time experience as a Retail Manager or in a closely related management role (or alternatively a relevant qualification together with appropriate experience).
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing retail sales operations and staff.
- Ability to analyse sales performance and implement strategies to improve business outcomes.
- Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency using dealership management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Advantageous – previous experience in an automotive dealership and sound knowledge of automotive industry
