QC Scientist

Join a quality-focused laboratory team supporting the testing, documentation, and release activities for intermediate and finished products. In this role, you will be responsible for sample receipt, internal and external testing coordination, stock control, investigation support, and maintaining accurate records in line with GMP and company standards.
This position sits within the Quality Control laboratory and offers the opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of laboratory operations, timely test execution, and continuous improvement across the QC group.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include, however not limited to:
- Receive and sign in samples to the Quality Control laboratory using SAP
- Distribute testing samples to the relevant testing laboratories
- Ensure testing is performed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, with a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and timely output
- Develop and maintain documentation and records in accordance with GMP and company requirements
- Raise and investigate non-compliant samples
- Support the design and execution of Corrective and Preventative Actions
- Work as an active team member to help coordinate activities and improve QC group performance
Organise external testing requirements, including:
- raising purchase orders
- shipping samples
- liaising with testing vendors
- entering test results accurately into SAP
Plan and execute Quality Control testing of intermediate and finished products, specifically:
- homogeneity testing
- moisture content testing
Maintain stock levels of consumables by:
- raising and coordinating purchase orders through SAP or Ariba
- approving invoices
- finalising orders
- completing physical stock checks
- identifying and replenishing expiring stock
Coordinate activities through the central services department, including:
- autoclaving
- decontamination
- preparation of testing equipment
Support chemical water testing activities, including:
- receiving water samples
- shipping or delivering samples to testing vendors
- conducting conductivity testing
What You Must have
- Bachelor of Science preferred, or relevant experience in a laboratory or GMP environment
- Strong organisational skills
- Proficiency in: Email Management, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
- Ability to manage stock levels and coordinate replenishment orders
- Strong planning and coordination skills
- Ability to track testing progress, manage external testing requirements, and assess when escalation is needed
- Accountability, sound decision-making, and a sense of urgency
- Strong teamwork, networking, and partnership-building skills
- Emotional intelligence and a commitment to inclusion, and talent development
- Ability to contribute to leadership through collaboration and ownership
- Driving Licence preferred
