Employment Type: Casual
Please read the full job description before applying.
Sydney Creative is looking for a creative, organised and proactive Social Media & Content Creator to take ownership of our social media presence.
We're not looking for someone who simply enjoys posting on Instagram. We're looking for someone who genuinely loves creating engaging content, understands current social media trends, and enjoys turning everyday moments into content people actually want to watch.
This role is based at our Redfern studio and is not a work-from-home position. Our workshops, teachers and customers are what make Sydney Creative special, so we need someone who is present to capture those moments as they happen.
This is a hybrid role. Alongside creating content, the successful applicant will be enthusiastic about training as a Creative Workshop Instructor and assisting with our classes. Initially, this will involve supporting our instructors during larger workshops while capturing content, with the opportunity to progress to independently teaching workshops as your confidence and training develop. This provides additional hours while giving you an authentic understanding of the Sydney Creative experience.
About the Role
You will take ownership of Sydney Creative's social media across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
You'll be responsible for developing ideas, planning content, capturing footage, editing videos, writing captions and scheduling posts. You'll also be tasked with organising our existing content and creating a folder system to keep everything organised. We're looking for someone who can confidently take the lead and bring fresh ideas to the business.
You'll work closely with the business owner to ensure all content reflects the Sydney Creative brand while having the creative freedom to develop your own ideas and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a social media content strategy.
- Plan, film, edit and schedule engaging content across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
- Keep up to date with social media trends and identify opportunities to adapt them for Sydney Creative.
- Capture workshops, behind-the-scenes moments, new products, customer experiences and studio life.
- Feature our instructors and help showcase the personalities behind the business.
- Write captions that reflect the Sydney Creative brand and tone of voice.
- Maintain a consistent posting schedule.
- Monitor engagement and identify opportunities to improve content performance.
- Work collaboratively with the team to generate new content ideas.
- Assist with other studio tasks when required.
- Train as a Creative Workshop Instructor and assist during larger workshops, with the opportunity to progress to independently teaching classes.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience creating engaging content for social media.
- Has experience with both Instagram and TikTok.
- Understands short-form video and current content trends.
- Is excited to train as a Creative Workshop Instructor and become part of the face of the Sydney Creative brand.
- Is confident filming and directing others on camera.
- Is highly organised and able to manage a content calendar independently.
- Takes initiative and doesn't need to be told what to post each day.
- Can confidently make creative decisions while maintaining brand consistency.
- Is comfortable receiving feedback and refining content.
- Has excellent written English and strong attention to detail.
- Loves arts, crafts and creative businesses.
- Is confident working independently within a small business.
- Is comfortable appearing in content.
