Recoveries Officer
We’re seeking a customer focused professional to play a key role in supporting our Claims team. In this position, you’ll assist in minimising company expenditure by ensuring the prompt and fair process of claims recoveries according to the terms and conditions of the PDS and in accordance with company procedures in relation to the management of recoveries.
What you’ll do
- Receive recovery notifications from Claims Officers and action all associated tasks.
- Manage all recoveries from the initial advice through to finalisation, including setting/updating the correct reserve on the file, reviewing all documentation and appointing service providers, including external recovery agents.
- Maintain recovery files and costs by the application of the correct protection interpretation, limits and excesses, and ensure a high standard of file management and know-how by maintaining knowledge of protection wordings, recovery and claims procedures.
- On complex claims, develop a strategy which enables the claim to be brought to finality as soon as possible.
- Maintain good member and staff relationships by the making of prompt decisions, maintaining good communication throughout the recovery process and following through with promises made.
- Maintain a high level of service to internal and internal customers.
What you’ll bring
- Advanced skills in the use of MS Office including Outlook (essential).
- Intermediate understanding of relevant claims system (desirable).
- Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to show initiative and work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to negotiate with a focus on achieving a sound outcome for the organisation.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written with good attention to detail.
- High level of service orientation.
- Conflict resolution skills.
Experience
- Experience in insurance/finance industry with desirable experience in claims or a debt/recovery position.
