Maple Community Services currently has an exciting opportunity for you to join the team as a Disability Support Worker!
We are seeking passionate, empathetic and dedicated individuals to provide support to our participants. This role will involve supporting participants with their daily living needs, personal care, community participation and overall safety and wellbeing.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting participants to safely use assistive technology and transfer equipment, including a Sara Stedy, power recliner and commode
- Providing personal care, including showering, toileting, dressing and personal hygiene
- Supporting participants with activities of daily living (ADLs), including meal preparation, laundry, cleaning and general household tasks
- Community participation, including accompanying participants to outings, appointments and social engagements
- Supporting participants to maintain their independence and participate in tasks to the best of their ability
- Transporting participants to required destinations
- Supporting with medication in accordance with individual support plans and organisational procedures
- Completing progress notes following every shift using the provided template
- Building positive rapport and providing high-quality, person-centred support
- Supporting participants to work towards their individual goals and aspirations
Requirements:
- Certificate in Mental Health, Disability and/or Individual Support preferred
- Previous experience in disability support, including personal care and assisted transfers
- Experience using assistive technology or transfer equipment such as a Sara Stedy, commode or similar equipment is highly regarded
- Ability to follow individual support plans, manual handling procedures and relevant health professional recommendations
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible in terms of hours and participant needs
- Positive attitude and willingness to take initiative
- Strong practical judgement and problem-solving skills
- Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle with appropriate vehicle insurance
- Current Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, WWCC, First Aid & CPR and NDIS Worker Orientation Module

Pay: $34.00 – $50.00 per hour
