Details: Are you a proactive and enthusiastic professional with a passion for high-level executive support and strategic coordination? The Office of the Executive Group Manager (EGM), Policy and Strategy, are seeking an experienced Executive Officer to temporarily join the team.
About the Role The Executive Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the EGM, who leads the Policy and Strategy Division comprising: artsACT, Business, Communications and Engagement, Policy, Strategy and Projects, Skills Canberra and Tourism and Investment. You will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the EGM’s office, ensuring seamless communication, workflow coordination, and the prioritisation of executive administrative functions. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams, Ministers’ Offices, and key external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Provide high-level executive and strategic support to the EGM

Manage and coordinate communications, briefings, and correspondence

Prepare and coordinate Ministerial documents including briefings

Facilitate workflow and prioritise competing demands in a dynamic environment

Build and maintain effective relationships across the division and with external partners

Support the coordination of divisional initiatives and reporting requirements

Experience in a similar executive support or coordination role is highly desirable

Notes: This is a temporary position available from mid-July 2026 for 12 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
This position is located in a workplace designated for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
