Solar Roofer — Commercial & Industrial | Casual | $45–$55/hr
EnergyWise has been installing solar, electrical and mechanical systems across NSW for 19 years. In 2025 we won the NECA Excellence Award for NSW Best Green Energy Project, and were national runner-up, for a multi-technology retrofit on a commercial site.
We're looking for experienced roofers to join our install crews on a casual basis. This is commercial and industrial work — warehouses, factories, cold stores, supermarkets and council buildings. Big metal roofs, proper access, and jobs that run for days rather than a new address every morning.
WHERE THE WORK IS
Around three-quarters of our work is across the Sydney region. The remaining quarter is regional NSW — typically a few days at a time, roughly one week in four. Away jobs come with accommodation and meals covered and travel time paid, and they're a good earner if you want them. Tell us in your application whether regional work suits you.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Setting out and installing mounting rail and racking on Klip-Lok, trimdeck and standing-seam roofs
- Lifting, placing and securing panels
- Roof penetrations, flashing and weatherproofing where required
- Working alongside our electricians and project manager
- Site set-up, fall protection, and keeping the roof safe and tidy
- Following our commissioning checklist so the job passes QA first time
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- 2+ years on roofs — solar experience preferred, but strong metal or commercial roofing experience is welcome
- Current Working at Heights ticket
- Current Construction Induction card (White Card)
- Asbestos awareness training
- Own PPE including harness
- Driver's licence and reliable transport
- Physically fit and comfortable working at height in Australian conditions
NICE TO HAVE
- EWP ticket (scissor and boom lift)
- Experience with Clenergy, Schletter or similar racking systems
- Previous work on C&I sites with formal SWMS and inductions
