Assistant Swim Coach — Fortitude Valley
Commercial Swimming Club is looking for an Assistant Swim Coach to join our growing squad program at The Valley Pool in Fortitude Valley.
This role is suited to someone with a competitive swimming background, coaching experience, or a genuine interest in developing as a squad coach.
You will work alongside Head Coach Sebastien Roy-Bryant across our Masters Squad and State / National age group program, helping deliver high-quality sessions in a performance-focused club environment.
Commercial Swimming Club has grown strongly over the past year and our Masters program recently finished as National Runner-Up Club Overall at Australian Masters Nationals. We are now looking for the right person to grow with the program.
The Role
You will assist with:
- Coaching Masters squad sessions
- Supporting State / National age group athletes
- Providing technical feedback across all strokes
- Assisting with race skills, turns, starts, pacing and training standards
- Helping maintain a professional, positive and high-performance squad environment
- Occasional competition support, if available
Hours
Approx. 12 hours per week, with room to grow.
Sessions include:
- Early morning squad sessions
- Afternoon / evening squad sessions
- Occasional weekend competitions, if available
This role is casual and in-person at The Valley Pool, Fortitude Valley.
Pay
$32.50–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Requirements
Preferred:
- Competitive swimming background
- Squad coaching experience
- Swimming Australia Coaching Accreditation
Required before starting:
- Blue Card / Working with Children Check
- CPR / First Aid
- Ability to work in person at Fortitude Valley
