About the role
The Clinical Director - Palliative and Supportive Care provides strategic, clinical and operational leadership for a specialist service dedicated to improving quality of life for patients living with serious, complex and life-limiting illness. This senior medical leadership role is responsible for driving excellence in patient care, service delivery, workforce development, education and research across Metro North Health. Working in partnership with multidisciplinary teams, executive leaders and key stakeholders, the Clinical Director will lead the ongoing development of innovative, evidence-based models of care that support patients and their families throughout their healthcare journey.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Lead the clinical team to provide world-class patient centred care within scope of clinical practice and Clinical Services Capability Framework (CSCF)of the facilities within MNH.
Provide specialist clinical services by consultation/liaison to inpatients.
Provide leadership in resolving clinical, ethical and operational challenges with the assistance of Medical Administration.
Provide leadership to support the effective and timely management of patient complaints, medico-legal matters in accordance with clinical and corporate governance policies and procedures with the assistance of Medical Administration.
Develop and maintain rosters that deliver the clinical business requirements within the rostering and fatigue risk management framework.
