Role Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist within our Surface Ships team in Osborne, SA. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a range of planned quality activities designed to provide assurance to management that quality practices are being effectively deployed. This includes ensuring that quality standards are maintained whilst leading the identification and implementation of quality improvement activities.
Core Duties:
- Undertake/facilitate internal, second party and third-party customer audits to ensure corrective actions and ongoing compliance with policies and procedures
- Contribute to assess and approve suppliers and sub-contractors and monitor their performance in support of risk-based supplier surveillance
- Build strong engaging relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, maintaining/fostering a positive culture and a culture of ownership and collaboration
- Conduct Quality Investigations and recommend, communicate and provide reporting of compliance and initiate remedial actions as required
- Champion the quality assurance activities, ensuring quality standards/outcomes are achieved and in line with quality standards, program and company requirements
- Coach and mentor team members, as required
About You
- Demonstrated quality assurance experience and individuals with experience in advanced manufacturing/production, engineering or in a relevant field will be considered
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- An understanding of Quality, Safety, Environmental & Asset Management Standards (9001, 45001, 14001, 55001) and practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage and resolve complex quality issues
- Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt desirable)
- A recognised Lead Auditor qualification is essential
