ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer with extensive MOBILE equipment experience for an up-and-coming assignment in QLD. Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, executing projects to enhance operational efficiencies and equipping teams to deliver sustainable high-performance results will be part of your key deliverables. With a drive for continuous improvement and innovation, you will provide direction and governance over maintenance strategies and asset health condition monitoring.
We are seeking an exceptional Reliability Engineer with deep expertise in mobile plant equipment and a strong background in RCM‑based, cost‑driven asset strategy development, FMEA, and maintenance optimisation.
You will play a critical role in improving the reliability and lifecycle performance of heavy mobile equipment across a world‑class underground mining operation, including exposure to typical underground mobile fleets such as trucks, loaders, development and production drills, charge‑up and bolting equipment, utility vehicles, and associated support machinery.
This role requires hands‑on experience with Isograph Availability Workbench (AWB), specifically the RCMCost module, to build, optimise, and validate maintenance strategies for mobile fleets.
Key Skills
· Facilitate RCM workshops for mobile plant and develop structured, cost‑optimised maintenance strategies using RCMCost.
· Lead and execute FMEA and RCFA investigations to deliver robust corrective and preventive actions.
· Identify mobile equipment failure modes, degradation mechanisms, and systemic reliability issues across diverse fleet categories.
· Build, validate, and optimise asset strategies using Isograph AWB (RCMCost), including cost modelling, task selection, and lifecycle strategy validation.
· Conduct risk assessments aligned with operational, safety, and financial objectives.
· Develop proactive maintenance tasks, work instructions, and standardised procedures that support fleet reliability and execution consistency.
· Write, review, and optimise technical procedures for mobile plant maintenance.
Experience
· Minimum 10 years of reliability engineering experience, with at least 5 years focused on mobile plant equipment in mining or heavy industry.
· Demonstrated experience developing asset strategies using RCMCost, including cost benefit analysis of maintenance tasks.
· Extensive experience facilitating RCM and FMEA for mobile fleets (haul trucks, loaders, dozers, graders, drills, etc.).
· Proven ability to embed RCM/RCFA methodologies into structured reliability programs.
· Strong background in mobile plant systems: engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, electrical systems, and onboard monitoring.
· Experience with reliability analytics tools and mobile fleet health monitoring systems.
· Exposure to mining operations, fleet performance metrics, and maintenance best practices.
Qualifications
· Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics) or Trade qualification with >10 years of hands-on mobile plant experience.
· Formal training and certification in Reliability Engineering methodologies.
· CMRP certification (or equivalent) preferred.
