About the role
As the Principal Analyst - Cost Reporting, you will be a key contributor to the delivery of high-impact analytical insights that shape clinical and financial decision-making across Metro North Health. This role combines technical expertise with strategic thinking, requiring you to interpret complex datasets, develop robust models, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations. You will work closely with the Clinical Costing team and a broad range of stakeholders to enhance the accuracy, usability and value of costing data.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Deliver a range of end-to-end analytical solutions to develop and present information, including trend, future state and modelling analysis that is clear and concise, to influence decision making both verbally and in written form.
Rapidly absorb an understanding of the CostPro costing system as it relates to reporting and be able to identify opportunities for improvement.
Continue to expand technical knowledge in the delivery of analytics using contemporary data science and modelling tools i.e. BI Tools e.g. Power BI, FocusPro, data science language e.g. R, Python, and database tools e.g. SQL and other business support tools e.g. Excel, PowerApps.
Lead the continual development and maintenance of the Microsoft Windows based Costing Feeder file processing application.
Create innovative solutions and visualisations of the large datasets within the organisational information systems and clinical costing solution to provide informative reporting and/or analysis.
