About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to participants in their homes and within the community. You will play an important role in promoting independence, dignity, inclusion, and quality of life while supporting participants to achieve their individual goals.
Your duties may include:
· Personal care and daily living assistance
· Meal preparation and household support
· Community access and social participation
· Transport to appointments and activities
· Emotional, behavioural, and social support
· Supporting participants to develop life skills and independence
· Implementing behaviour support strategies and care plans
· Maintaining accurate progress notes and documentation
· Working collaboratively with families, carers, allied health professionals, and support teams
This role may involve a variety of shifts, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, sleepovers, and public holidays.

Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
· Minimum 1 year experience in disability support, aged care, community services, or a similar support role, or a relevant certificate II or higher qualification
· A genuine passion for supporting people with disability
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Strong problem-solving abilities and initiative
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Experience supporting participants with daily living activities
· Basic computer skills and confidence using mobile devices and electronic reporting systems
· Understanding of person-centred support principles
· Experience supporting people with complex needs, behaviours of concern, autism, intellectual disability, or psychosocial disability will be highly regarded
Preferred Requirements
Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain:
· Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, Community Services, or equivalent
· Current Driver Licence
· NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
· National Police Check
· Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
· Working with Vulnerable People clearance (or relevant State/Territory clearance)
· Right to work in Australia
Additional qualifications such as Medication Administration, Manual Handling, Positive Behaviour Support, Mental Health First Aid, Epilepsy Management, or Mealtime Management training will be highly regarded.
