WPP Creative is looking for a Content Creator who is passionate about social media, culture, storytelling and creating content that people actually want to watch, engage with and share.
The Content Creator will be responsible for developing and producing engaging, platform-native content for our clients across social channels. This includes ideation, scripting, shooting, editing and adapting content for different platforms and audiences.
The role requires someone who understands that creating for social is different from creating traditional advertising. You should be comfortable spotting trends, turning ideas into content quickly, experimenting with formats and creating content that feels natural to the platform and relevant to the audience.
You will work closely with Social & Influence, Creative, Strategy, Account Management, Creators, Production and other agency teams to develop content from idea through to delivery.
- Develop and produce engaging, social-first content across platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and other emerging platforms.
- Generate content ideas based on brand objectives, audience behaviour, cultural moments and social trends.
- Write scripts, captions, hooks and other content copy where required.
- Shoot and produce content using mobile devices and appropriate production equipment.
- Edit short-form video and other social content into platform-appropriate formats.
- Adapt content concepts and assets for different platforms, audiences and formats.
- Develop content that encourages conversation, participation, sharing and community engagement.
- Stay closely connected to social trends, memes, creators, formats, sounds and emerging behaviours.
- Identify trends and cultural moments that could be relevant to clients.
- Translate trends into brand-relevant content rather than simply replicating what is popular.
- Bring fresh references, observations and ideas into team discussions and content planning.
- Understand when a trend is appropriate for a brand—and when it is better to avoid it.
- Contribute ideas to social content strategies, editorial plans and campaigns.
- Work with Social & Influence Managers and Creatives to develop content concepts from brief to execution.
- Develop content series, recurring formats and social-first franchises that can build audience interest over time.
- Support reactive and real-time content opportunities where appropriate.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions, campaign development and new business pitches.
- Support creator and influencer-led content development and production.
- Work with creators to translate strategic direction into authentic, platform-native content.
- Help develop creator briefs, scripts, references and content guidelines.
- Participate in creator shoots and content production where required.
- Adapt creator content for different platforms and campaign requirements.
- Ensure creator content remains relevant to both the creator's audience and the brand.
- Manage the day-to-day production of assigned social content from concept through to final delivery.
- Coordinate with designers, editors, photographers, videographers, creators and production partners where required.
- Ensure content is delivered on time and to the required quality.
- Manage multiple content requests and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Work within agreed production budgets, timelines and brand guidelines.
- Take ownership of assigned content from idea through to completion.
- Maintain a strong understanding of how major social platforms work and how content consumption differs across them.
- Understand platform-native formats, hooks, storytelling techniques, audience behaviours and best practices.
- Stay updated on platform changes, emerging formats and new creator behaviours.
- Recommend appropriate formats and approaches based on the objective and platform.
- Continuously experiment with new content approaches and learn from performance.
- Review content performance and identify what is working and what can be improved.
- Use performance data and social insights to inform future content creation.
- Understand key social metrics such as reach, watch time, completion rate, engagement, shares, saves and comments.
- Work with the Social & Influence team to optimise content based on audience response.
- Apply learnings from previous content to improve future work.
- Work closely with Social & Influence, Creative, Strategy and Account Management teams.
- Understand client objectives and translate them into appropriate content.
- Maintain consistency with brand tone, visual identity and communication guidelines.
- Ensure content meets legal, regulatory, platform and brand safety requirements.
- Be open to feedback and actively contribute to a collaborative creative environment.
- Promote responsible and effective use of AI and emerging content creation tools.
- 2–5 years of experience in social content creation, digital content, creative production or a related field.
- Agency, brand, creator or production experience is preferred.
- Strong portfolio or examples of social-first content across relevant platforms.
- Experience creating short-form video content for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
- Experience with mobile content production, video editing and social publishing is preferred.
