About the Role
The People Advisory Specialist role provides high-quality, first-line support to employees and leaders, delivering timely and accurate people related advice across the employee lifecycle. The role interprets policies, procedures, awards, and employment conditions to resolve enquiries and inform management practices and decision-making. You will also support and guides leaders through employee grievances and disputes, conduct and performance management, flexible working arrangements, and leave and absence management. The position promotes a self-service culture by educating stakeholders on HR tools and resources, ensures consistent application of policies, and collaborates with People and Communications subject matter experts to escalate complex matters and drive continuous improvement. The People Advisory Specialist role will also administer the Workforce Mobility Placement (WMP) policy and program for icare, providing case management to employees referred to WMP.

Duties
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a People Advisory Specialist you will:
- Deliver efficient, high-quality, proactive first-line HR advisory services, resolving employee and leader enquiries via phone and inbox channels in line with service level expectations.
- Provide end-to-end guidance to leaders across employee grievances and disputes, conduct and performance management, flexible working arrangements, and leave and absence management, ensuring compliance with policies and frameworks.
- Interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, the icare Award, and employment contracts to provide accurate and consistent advice, escalating complex or sensitive matters to Employee Relations or Centres of Excellence as required.
- Promote and embed a self-service culture by educating and coaching stakeholders on HR systems, tools, and resources, improving user capability and reducing reliance on manual support.
- Manage and prioritise a high volume of enquiries and transactions, ensuring timely resolution, proactive communication, and a positive customer experience.
- Support consultative arrangements and resolution of issues and disputes with employee groups and unions.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience working in employee relations and/or human resources providing generalist coordination and advice
- Developed understanding of employment relations
- Experience in interpreting, providing advice on and developing policies and procedures
- Demonstrated delivery of Human Resources programs, initiatives, and projects
- Tertiary level qualification (e.g. bachelor degree) in human resources, business or other relevant discipline or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through practical experience
