Waratah Respite Services is a not-for-profit organisation that has been providing flexible respite services in Coffs Harbour and surrounding districts since 1987.
We provide centre-based social support and respite care in Coffs Harbour and Woolgoolga, as well as flexible overnight respite in our Cottage for older people, people living with dementia and their carers.

About the Role
Waratah Respite Services is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team and provide high-quality, person-centred care to older people accessing our respite services.
This role is ideal for an RN who enjoys building meaningful relationships with clients, working as part of a supportive team and providing care that promotes dignity, independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
The successful applicant will work 2 days per week, Monday and Tuesdays, with ability to provide holiday relief and possible future capacity to move to 3 days a week. This position in not expected to work night or evening shifts. It would be desirable if there was capacity to assist in covering those shifts if there was a staffing crisis.
Role includes client assessments, care plan developments, assisting with bookings, supporting care staff etc.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing safe, professional and person-centred nursing care to our respite clients, while supporting their individual health and wellbeing needs.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a Registered Nurse (minimum 3 years of experience) with a current AHPRA registration
- Has experience in aged care, community care, respite or a similar setting (preferred but not essential)
- Has a genuine passion for supporting older people
- Demonstrates excellent clinical judgement and communication skills
- Is confident working independently as well as within a team
- Is reliable, compassionate and professional
- Has the flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and occasional overnight shifts
- Is committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care
- Has 2 Covid Vaccinations and a current Influenza Vaccination (preferred)
