About the Role
Reporting to the Data Manager, the Associate Data Engineer supports the development and operation of Craveable Brands' cloud-based data platform. The role works closely with multiple stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions and reporting outcomes. You will contribute to data pipelines, APIs, reporting workflows and platform enhancements while helping resolve data-related issues across the business. This role plays an important part in ensuring teams have access to trusted data that supports informed decision-making.
Key Activities Include:
Data Engineering & Development
- Build and deploy data solutions aligned to business and technical requirements.
- Develop reporting and automation workflows that improve access to information.
- Support the development of APIs, backend services and data platform features.
Platform Operations & Quality
- Perform data quality checks and validation activities across key datasets.
- Monitor data workflows to maintain reliability and performance.
- Support governance, data management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Support
- Assist business users with data enquiries, troubleshooting and onboarding.
- Gather requirements and translate business needs into practical data solutions.
- Partner with engineers and stakeholders to resolve data issues and enhance capabilities.
Collaboration & Development
- Participate in project delivery, innovation discussions and platform enhancements.
- Contribute documentation, knowledge sharing and code reviews across the team.
- Build technical capability through structured learning, certifications and hands-on experience.
About You
Essential
- Formal qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline.
- Understanding of cloud-based data warehousing concepts and technologies.
- Familiarity with SQL and data processing principles.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
- Comfortable utilising LLM coding assistants and agentic tools as part of day-to-day pipeline development, debugging, and documentation.
Desirable
- Python programming capability.
- Exposure to APIs, cloud services and modern data ingestion tools.
- Experience with GitHub, Tableau or similar analytics technologies.
