About Us
Smith Street Medical Centre & Skin Cancer Clinic is a growing healthcare organisation operating across multiple clinic locations. We currently operate three clinic sites, with a further clinic planned for Merimbula and expected to commence operations in or around August 2026.
As our clinic network expands, we are seeking a full-time ICT Systems Administrator to support the reliable, secure and efficient operation of our ICT systems across all current and planned locations.
About the Role
The ICT Systems Administrator will be based at our Gungahlin clinic and will provide ICT systems administration and support across the organisation’s clinic network.
This is a lead internal ICT role responsible for coordinating and managing the organisation’s ICT systems across its clinic network.
At this stage, the ICT Systems Administrator will work independently and will be the primary internal point of responsibility for ICT systems administration, user support, access management, cybersecurity support, asset management and vendor coordination.
The role does not currently involve direct supervision of an internal ICT team. However, as the organisation continues to grow, the position may evolve to include supervision of additional ICT support staff or coordination of a broader ICT support function.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Administering and maintaining computers, servers, networks, cloud platforms, business applications and communication systems.
- Providing day-to-day ICT support to staff across multiple clinic locations.
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, network, internet, email, login, printer, phone and video conferencing issues.
- Managing user accounts, passwords, email access, shared drives, system permissions and authentication controls.
- Supporting staff onboarding, role changes and offboarding from an ICT access perspective.
- Coordinating software updates, system upgrades, security patches and routine ICT maintenance.
- Supporting cybersecurity controls, including secure access, password standards, multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection and safe system use.
- Monitoring backup processes and assisting with disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
- Maintaining ICT asset records, software licence records, system documentation and equipment logs.
- Assisting with ICT procurement, equipment replacement, software licence renewals and vendor coordination.
- Liaising with external IT providers, software vendors, internet providers, telecommunications providers and cybersecurity service providers.
- Identifying opportunities to improve ICT reliability, security, efficiency, staff support and system performance.
- Providing practical ICT recommendations to management.
Desirable Skills, Qualifications and Experience
The following will be highly regarded:
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in ICT systems administration, ICT support, network support or infrastructure support.
- At least a Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Networking, Systems Administration, Cybersecurity or a related discipline.
- Experience with Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 environments.
- Experience supporting cloud platforms and business applications.
- Experience with LAN/WAN support and network troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting telephony and video conferencing systems.
- Understanding of cybersecurity tools, endpoint protection, access controls and secure system use.
- Experience providing ICT support in a healthcare, medical, multi-site or professional services environment.
Selection Criteria
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Networking, Systems Administration or a related discipline.
- Practical experience in ICT systems administration, ICT support, network support or infrastructure support.
- Experience supporting users across hardware, software, networks, cloud systems and business applications.
- Ability to administer user accounts, permissions, passwords, access controls and onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Understanding of cybersecurity practices, including secure access, software updates, endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication and data protection.
- Experience with backup monitoring, disaster recovery support, ICT asset management and software licence records.
- Ability to liaise with external ICT providers, vendors, internet providers and technology suppliers.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
- A practical, service-focused and solutions-oriented approach.
