MayTec Australia is seeking a skilled and reliable Fitter and Turner to join our growing team full time.
We supply high-quality aluminium profile systems, industrial, commercial and medical workstations, machine frames, enclosures, trolleys, and automation solutions to customers across manufacturing, warehousing, medical technology, laboratories, education, and industrial sectors.
This is a hands-on workshop role suited to someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, precision work, and working within a small, supportive team environment.
About the role:
You will work across a range of workshop and assembly tasks, including machining, fitting, fabrication support, installation preparation, and quality checks. The role suits someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, takes pride in accurate work, and can work both independently and as part of a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating manual milling, drilling, cutting and CNC machining equipment.
- Fit, assemble, and shape aluminium t-slot profiles and accessories to fabricate machine frames, enclosures, trolleys, benches and workstations for industrial, commercial and medical/laboratory clients.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine the amount of aluminium material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings.
- Machine aluminium parts to tight tolerances from engineering drawings.
- Check fabricated and assembled aluminium parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments.
- Diagnose faults and performing operational maintenance of machines.
- Maintain workshop machinery and tools.
- Monitor and manage material usage, stock levels, and inventory control to support efficient production and minimise waste.
- Work with the team to deliver high-quality work on time.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures.
Skills & Experience:
- Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner / Mechanical Fitter or relevant work experience.
- Experience operating machining equipment and working in a manufacturing or industrial workshop environment.
- Experience with T-slot aluminium profile systems preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Experience in maintenance or workshop environments.
Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Pay: $76,000.00 – $86,000.00 per year
