We are seeking a motivated and analytical Assistant Mill Superintendent to support the coordination and optimization of mill operations across production, technical, safety, and environmental functions.
In this role, you will assist Mill Superintendents in monitoring operational performance, collecting and analyzing production data, conducting cost analyses, and preparing rolling plans and operational reports. You will also support process improvement initiatives by coordinating test work, research activities, and collaboration with external stakeholders. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and safe work practices.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Assist Mill Superintendents in implementing the mill production plan to ensure the throughput, grade, recovery, and gold production targets are met.

Monitor the operation of the production system and track key indicators.

Promptly identify abnormalities in production and coordinate timely resolution.

Production Data Management, Compilation and Reporting

Primarily responsible for production data collection, analysis, and feedback of production data.

Coordinate with relevant departments to collect cost analysis data and complete the mill cost analysis in a timely manner.

Responsible for coordinating the consolidation, preparation, and submission of annual rolling plan data.

Communication and Coordination
Assist in liaising with the Group’s technical and design companies to carry out test work, research activities, and process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.

Additional qualifications in Process Improvement, Project Management, or Business Management are an advantage.

Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in mineral processing, milling, or plant operations, preferably within the mining industry.

Experience analyzing plant performance data and identifying improvement opportunities.

Strong understanding of milling, crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, or other mineral processing operations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days off.

A valid proof of good conduct (‘Bewijs van goedgedrag’) will be required upon selection.
