About the Role
The Trustee for Zam Cronulla Unit Trust is seeking an experienced, high-energy, and strategic Retail Area Manager to oversee our multi-site restaurant operations across Cronulla (NSW), Sutherland (NSW), and Majura Park (ACT).
Reporting directly to the Franchise Partner, you will be responsible for the overall management of 2–3 restaurant locations. You will ensure strict compliance with Company Policies and Procedures while driving financial profitability, operational excellence, and fostering a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
As the Retail Area Manager, you will lead our Restaurant Managers, Assistant Managers, and Team Members. Your core duties will include:
- Financial & Profitability Oversight: Compiling, preparing, and maintaining profit and loss statements, budgets, forecasting, and executing strict cost controls regarding cost of goods (COGS) and labour.
- Operational & Stock Control: Managing multi-site inventory and stock systems, ordering from suppliers, supervising deliveries, and ensuring strict compliance with company operational policies.
- Personnel & Performance Management: Directing recruitment, conducting staff performance reviews, managing rostering to balance business goals with customer experience, and handling employee grievances/issues.
- Strategic Coordination: Executing local marketing promotions and ensuring full adherence to all regulatory requirements across all restaurant locations.
- Workplace & Food Safety: Enforcing proper security, banking, and cash-handling procedures. Undertaking regular WHS inspections, managing food safety/sanitation requirements, and driving mandatory training modules across all staff.
Position Requirements (Skills & Experience)
To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following minimum requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 1–2 years of relevant restaurant, food service, or retail management experience. Experience in an area, cluster, or multi-site management role is highly desirable.
- Financial Acumen: Proven experience in budget management, forecasting, and financial administrative tasks (including cash handling, P&L management, and payroll processes).
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage, train, and mentor diverse teams, including restaurant managers and supervisors.
- Attributes: Exceptional communication skills, the ability to adapt and succeed in a fast-paced environment, and a strong commitment to upholding workplace health, safety, and food sanitation standards.
