Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Company Director, you will be responsible for efficiently allocating staff, machinery and equipment across job sites and projects to maximise organisational benefit. You will also maintain close relationships with customers and management and aim to optimise the billable utilisation of staff.
As a hands-on leader, you will contribute to the creation and maintenance of the work forecasts and, when required, will source necessary goods and services for the work. With workplace safety being paramount and top of mind, you will carry out all works within the safety guidelines, policies and procedures.
General
· Liaise with the customer and management developing forecasts
· Deal and resolve conflict with the team and customer issues as needed.
· Allocate resources to work maximising billable utilisation for all quoted works.
· Work individually or with a team to achieve set objectives.
· Record with a high level of accuracy service and job records, such as but not limited to;
o time and attendance records,
o service records including dimensional and condition data.
· Adherence and compliance with site safety systems and state legislation. For example:
o Lock out and tag out procedures.
§ Risk assessment and take five.
o Hot work procedures.
o Working at height procedures.
o Confined space procedures.
o Managing fatigue.
o Develop/Maintain SWMS/JSA’s
· Liaise with and assist as directed any specialist contractors or third-party service providers engaged with respect to mechanical works.
Education and Training:
· Mechanical/boilermaker or Electrical trade preferred but not essential. An understanding of these trades and the type of work performed is required.
· High Risk Licence for Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, and working at heights.
Skills, Expertise, and Attributes.
· At least 5 years’ experience working in a front-line leadership position.
· Ability to deal with conflict and manage a team.
· Ship to shore, mobile harbor, RTG /RMG, crane experience.
· Mobile Equipment, such as those found in underground and surface mining, container terminal and ports, logistics and defence sectors.
· Fitting and Machining
· Welding / Fabricating
· Working at heights
· Confined space
· Self-disciplined and have a mindset of continuous improvement.
· Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
· Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
· Strong computer literacy and ability to use a variety of software packages.

Pay: $70.00 – $80.00 per hour
