The Role
We’re currently looking for a qualified Registered Nurse currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and at least one full year of nursing experience.
The Registered Nurse performs reception screening and comprehensive health assessments on persons received into custody whilst assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing management.
Our Location
The Long Bay hospital is located in the Long Bay Correctional Complex in Malabar, the work location offers free onsite parking, gym and subsidised café options within the complex making life a little easier. Long Bay Hospital is an 85-bed maximum-to-minimum security medical and psychiatric facility, it provides essential medical, aged care, and forensic mental health services to incarcerated individuals and remand inmates across New South Wales.
The hospital operates three specialised inpatient units;
Medical Health Unit: Provides psychiatric inpatient services, including involuntry treatment under the Mental health Act
Medical Sub-acute Unit: Facilitates pre and post operative care, medical observations and haemodialysis
Aged Care and Rehabilitation Unit: Dedicated to the care, assessment and physical rehabilitation of older frail inmates.
