Blaster Operator - Afternoon Shift
Our client in St Marys is looking for a motivated Blaster Operator to join their busy steel fabrication team. This role is critical to keeping production flowing smoothly.
You will operate the blasting machine and overhead crane to prepare structural steel for fabrication and painting. Duties include monitoring quality, stacking jobs in sequence, and keeping the blasting area safe and organised.
What you will do:

Operate blasting machinery for steel preparation

Ensure beams, columns, and plates are blasted to required standards

Monitor equipment, conduct routine checks of equipment and report maintenance concerns

Unload and stack blasted steel in correct production order

Keep work areas safe and organised

Work closely with fabrication, painting, and dispatch teams
What we are looking for:

Background in manufacturing or steel industry preferred

Crane operation experience essential

Ability to read technical drawings

Positive, self-starter attitude

Comfortable in fast-paced environments

Structural steel experience highly valued
