- Measure, cut, prepare and install glass for residential and commercial applications.
- Install and replace windows, doors, mirrors, shower screens, glass panels and other glazing products.
- Remove broken or damaged glass safely and prepare frames for replacement.
- Measure and mark glass accurately before cutting and installation.
- Cut, shape, drill and finish glass using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Fit glass into timber, aluminium, steel and other framing systems.
- Apply sealants, glazing compounds, rubber seals, gaskets and other fixing materials.
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications and measurements.
- Carry out on-site measurements and assess glazing requirements.
- Ensure installations are completed accurately, safely and to a high standard.
- Identify faults or installation issues and carry out repairs where required.
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in safe working condition.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and safe glass-handling practices.
- Work collaboratively with builders, tradespeople, customers and other team members.
Skills and experience
The successful applicant will have:
- Relevant experience working as a Glazier.
- A relevant trade qualification in glazing or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience measuring, cutting and installing glass.
- Experience with residential and/or commercial glazing.
- Ability to accurately read measurements, plans and job specifications.
- Good knowledge of glazing tools, materials and installation techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
- Ability to work safely with glass and glazing equipment.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- A current Australian driver's licence [required].
- Construction White Card [required].
