With a commitment to quality and safety, we ensure our technicians are well-trained and qualified.We are currently looking for an Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team. As an Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of air conditioning and refrigeration systems – from installation and maintenance to troubleshooting and repair. This role requires technical precision, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
o Interpret blueprints and technical specifications to determine job requirements.
o Prepare and set up installation points by drilling, cutting, bending, and threading pipes.
o Install, maintain, and repair air conditioning and refrigeration units, including compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, and associated components.
o Assemble and connect piping systems using bolting, soldering, welding, and brazing methods, ensuring accuracy and safety.
o Charge systems with the appropriate refrigerant or fluid, test for leaks, and perform operational checks.
o Conduct diagnostic checks to identify and troubleshoot faults, adjusting systems as required to ensure peak performance.
o Replace or repair faulty components, maintaining system integrity and efficiency.
o Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service activities, following compliance standards.
o Communicate effectively with clients to explain system issues and maintenance procedures.
o Adhere to all health, safety, and industry regulations, including WHS protocols.
o Test-operate air conditioning and refrigeration systems, checking mechanisms and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
o Evacuate systems using vacuum pumps to remove air and moisture before recharging with refrigerant in accordance with industry standards.
o Inspect, service, and overhaul air conditioning and refrigeration systems, diagnosing faults and repairing or replacing defective components.
o Adjust system controls and mechanisms and reassemble systems to ensure proper functionality.
o Record causes of system malfunctions and document actions taken to rectify issues.
Qualification and Experience:
o Minimum AQF Certificate III in Airconditioning and Refrigeration or minimum 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of qualification.
o Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
o Excellent customer communication and service skills.
o Valid driver’s license and ability to work across various sites.
o Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
o Minimum 1-year hands on experience in the relevant industry.
o Relevant licences may be required or the ability to obtain.
