Job Summary:
At HUB24, we're transforming the way financial advice is delivered through innovative technology and market-leading wealth management solutions. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering high-quality portfolio administration, investment reporting, analytics, and adviser solutions that create exceptional client experiences.
Working closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Architects, Developers, Testers, and business stakeholders, you will translate business needs into scalable and effective technology solutions. Leveraging your expertise in financial services, portfolio analysis, and Agile delivery, you will lead requirements gathering, solution design, backlog refinement, and delivery support while ensuring solutions align with business objectives and customer outcomes.
This role is ideal for an experienced Business Analyst who combines strong domain knowledge with analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and a passion for continuous improvement, innovation, and AI-enabled ways of working.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of HUB24's portfolio administration, investment reporting, analytics, and wealth management solutions.
- Partner with Product Owners and Product Managers to understand business objectives, customer needs, and strategic priorities.
- Gather, analyse, document, validate, and manage functional and non-functional requirements for Epics, Features, and User Stories.
- Translate business requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria that support successful delivery outcomes.
- Convert technical requirements from Architects and Technical Leads into actionable technical stories and delivery-ready specifications.
- Facilitate workshops and discussions with stakeholders, subject matter experts, developers, testers, and architects to define effective solutions.
- Support backlog management, prioritisation, and roadmap planning activities.
- Collaborate closely with development and testing teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements and customer expectations.
- Review test scenarios, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and participate in regression and production verification testing activities.
- Identify delivery risks, dependencies, and obstacles, proactively escalating issues where required.
- Validate data quality, business rules, calculations, reports, and user interfaces throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Work with Operations and Client Support teams to investigate and resolve production issues and defects.
- Provide ongoing support for production systems, troubleshooting incidents and ensuring platform stability.
- Engage with clients and business stakeholders to gather feedback and incorporate insights into product improvements.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Refinement, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase delivery efficiency, quality, and business value.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and practices to improve analysis, documentation, collaboration, and delivery outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to design, build, and test solutions that incorporate practical AI capabilities.
- Mentor and support junior Business Analysts, fostering knowledge sharing and professional development.
- Build strong relationships across business and technology teams to drive successful outcomes and stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure compliance with organisational governance, policies, and delivery standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst, or similar role within financial services, fintech, wealth management, or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of investment portfolio administration, portfolio analysis, performance reporting, and investment calculations.
- Demonstrated experience gathering, analysing, and documenting complex business and technical requirements.
- Experience developing user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and solution documentation.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies including Scrum and SAFe.
- Experience working across cross-functional teams comprising Product, Architecture, Engineering, Testing, and Operations.
- Practical knowledge of business analysis frameworks, methodologies, and techniques, including BABOK.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), production support, and defect management activities.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language and vice versa.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working with backlog management and Agile planning tools.
- Comfortable using AI tools to improve productivity and delivery outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while effectively managing competing priorities.
- Experience within wealth management, superannuation, investments, adviser technology, or platform businesses.
- Exposure to portfolio accounting, performance calculations, and financial reporting solutions.
- Experience working within enterprise technology and product delivery environments.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Information Technology, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
