About this Opportunity:
Reporting to the Executive Manager Development Planning & Engineering, the Coordinator Development Engineering will lead a team of engineers and construction inspectors to deliver high-quality development assessment and engineering outcomes for the Mackay region.
As an Authorised Delegate, you will review and sign off assessment reports for Operational Works Permit Applications, Maintenance of Subdivisions and survey plans, ensuring decisions are technically sound, timely and aligned with legislation, standards and Council requirements.
This role requires strong leadership, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a busy environment. Success will rely on excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across internal teams, applicants, developers, consultants, contractors and other external stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Candidates must hold a relevant tertiary qualification in engineering and have at least four years’ experience in a similar development engineering, assessment or local government role.
- Demonstrated experience in development assessment processes, including the ability to review technical documentation, provide sound engineering adviceand contribute to the assessment of Operational Works applications, subdivision maintenance matters and survey plans.
- A current QLD “C” Class driver’s licence and knowledge of local government and state government interactions are required.
