HR Truck Driver / Yard Operator (Forklift Licence Mandatory)

About the Role
Safety Works Scaffold is seeking an experienced and reliable HR Truck Driver / Yard Operator to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role combining truck driving, forklift operation, loading and unloading scaffold equipment, and maintaining an organised yard.
You'll play a key role in ensuring scaffold materials are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and collect scaffold equipment across Melbourne.
- Safely load and unload trucks using a forklift.
- Secure loads in accordance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and load restraint requirements.
- Conduct daily vehicle and forklift pre-start inspections.
- Assist with loading, unloading, sorting and storing scaffold materials.
- Keep the yard clean, organised and operational.
- Accurately complete delivery paperwork and delivery dockets.
- Work closely with yard staff and scaffold crews.
- Follow all company safety procedures and WorkSafe requirements.
- Report vehicle defects, damaged equipment or safety concerns promptly.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current HR Truck Licence (Essential)
- Current Forklift (LF) High Risk Work Licence (Essential)
- White Card (Construction Induction Card)
- Clean driving record
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
Preferred
- Experience in the scaffolding, construction or transport industry.
- Dogman or Rigging ticket.
- Basic scaffold ticket.
- Familiarity with Melbourne metropolitan roads.
- Experience operating truck-mounted cranes (advantage but not essential).
