We are currently offering a great opportunity for an experienced Sales Agronomist to join our Hamilton team. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the focus of your role will be to support a well-established client base across a pasture-based agronomy portfolio, with some cropping across the region. You will also have plenty of opportunity to build new relationships and grow the client base in an area with real potential.

Provide agronomic and technical support to farmers and producers in the region, with a focus on pasture-based systems and some cropping

Build solid and long-term client relationships, developing a strong understanding of clients’ business goals

Share technical and market information to help clients improve the performance and sustainability of their farming enterprises

Maintain relationships with an established customer base, while identifying opportunities to grow new business across Hamilton and the surrounding area

Keep current with the latest plant production practices

Run and coordinate field days and farmer meetings, positioning yourself as a trusted agronomy contact for pasture production, crop inputs and practical on-farm advice

At least 2-4 years’ experience as an agronomist

A sound understanding of rural producers’ needs, including key products, seasonal timings and production requirements

Good customer service, organisation, administration and computer skills

Confidence managing sales activity, customer calls and follow-up

A tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field, plus a current driver’s licence
