In this role, you'll:
Working within our Rail Operations Team at Sydney Trains, the primary purpose of our Short Term Train Planning Manager is to take responsibility to lead the development, implementation, and delivery of safe and reliable operational Daily Working Timetables (DWTT) including Adhoc Freight, principally in timeframes under standard lead times (i.e. under 14 days) and timetable support in incident management outside of office hours if required.
About you
The role is responsible for managing overall train plan service specification process to ensure timely delivery of late or very short notice timetables that meet all requirements.
You will coordinate the team to ensure the team consistently meets all customer, safety, quality and delivery timeframe requirements and manage effective resource utilisation of DWTT Production staff to ensure efficient delivery of a quality late notice timetable product and service.
You will maintain regular communication with all stakeholders and report on the status of all timetabling tasks and timetable related issues.
You will take responsibility to supervise and coach staff, overseeing and validating work completed, building the skills required to develop internal expertise and ensuring that staff are adequately resourced to perform.
You will manage validation and assurance activities to ensure that the combined DWTT product is reliable, robust, achievable and is delivered in accordance with all customers, safety and regulatory requirements and manage development of capability within the team.
This is a full-time permanent hybrid opportunity based in Alexandria.
