Full Job Description
As the Merchandise Planner, you will play a key role in driving financial performance, inventory optimisation and strategic planning outcomes across a critical category portfolio. Partnering closely with Buying and cross-functional teams, you will lead forecasting, reporting and inventory management to maximise sales, profitability and stock efficiency.
This role requires a commercially minded planner who can confidently analyse performance, identify opportunities and influence outcomes across the broader business.
Responsibilities:
- Weekly and monthly forecasting across Retail, Wholesale and Digital channels
- Manage all OTB requirements, planogramming and product sell-through analysis
- Build, maintain and manage Merchandise Financial Plans (MFPs/WSSI)
- Lead weekly, monthly and seasonal reporting, product and brand analysis
- Maximise inventory performance through effective stock management, markdown optimisation and aged stock control
- Identify product and trading opportunities through detailed sales and performance analysis
- Complete monthly replans, maintaining accurate forecasts across sales, stock, markdown and gross profit
- Provide product and distribution recommendations through ongoing reporting and analysis
- Track sales performance against budget, plan and prior year performance
- Review and maintain optimum stock levels across retail stores
- Analyse product flow and sales trends to ensure accurate forecasting and allocation outcomes
- Support ad hoc analysis and broader business reporting requirements
- Ensure integrity across planning data, reporting and tools
- Mentor and coach direct reports to support team development and performance outcomes
- Build strong collaborative relationships across Buying, Store and wider business teams
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within a Merchandise Planning role
- Experience working within a high-volume retail environment
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing planning team members
- Strong commercial, analytical and financial acumen
- Advanced numeracy and reporting capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced environment
- Positive, proactive and results-driven mindset
