About the role
As a Children and Families Ministry Assistant, this is your opportunity to support the delivery of The Salvation Army’s mission in Devonport by developing and facilitating ministry initiatives that create meaningful community impact. You will play a key leadership role within the Corps, leading and supporting a team of volunteers to deliver engaging and effective ministry outcomes.
Reporting to the Corps Officers, this is a permanent, full-time role located in Devonport, TAS.
How you will make an impact

Deliver impactful programs and activities that align with The Salvation Army’s mission and local community needs.

Recruit, train, and support volunteers to create a positive and effective team environment.

Build and maintain strong partnerships with community organisations, schools, local government, and other key stakeholders.

Provide pastoral care and support opportunities for faith, connection, and personal growth.

Monitor program delivery, budgets, and outcomes to ensure effective and sustainable operations.

Promote a safe environment by identifying risks and managing incidents in line with organisational policies and procedures.
What you will bring

Demonstrated Christian faith with a commitment to The Salvation Army’s mission and values.

Ability to provide pastoral support, facilitate faith-based activities, and engage people in their spiritual journey.

A current and valid Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Card

A national police record check is required

A current TAS Drivers licence
