Junior AV Installation Assistant – Casual 2–3 Days Per Week
AVSION is looking for a reliable, hands-on junior who wants to build a long-term career in Audio Visual, Data, Networking and Security installation.
You’ll work directly alongside an experienced technician on residential and commercial projects across Sydney.
This is a fixed installation role – not live production or events AV.
What you’ll help with:
- Pulling and organising Cat6/data cabling
- Assisting with installing TVs, speakers and brackets
- Assisting with installing Wi-Fi access points and network equipment
- Assisting with CCTV and intercom installations
- Preparing communications racks, patching and labelling
- Drilling, mounting and equipment preparation
- Testing equipment and basic troubleshooting
- Keeping customer sites clean and organised
As your skills develop, you’ll progressively learn Cat6 termination and testing, networking, CCTV, intercom, AV systems, racks and commissioning.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is genuinely interested in technology and wants to learn
- Enjoys practical, hands-on work
- Is reliable and punctual
- Takes pride in neat workmanship
- Is comfortable using hand and power tools
- Is comfortable working on ladders, in ceilings and under floors
- Communicates professionally with customers
- Holds a current Australian driver licence
- Has unrestricted Australian work rights
Previous AV experience is not required.
Experience with tools, electronics, IT, networking, electrical, security or telecommunications is an advantage. A White Card is also highly regarded.
Career pathway:
Junior AV Installation Assistant → AV Installer → AV Technician
Casual position initially 2–3 weekdays per week, with potential for additional days as your skills and the role develop.
Pay: $35–$38 per hour + super, depending on experience and capability.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete a short video interview followed by a paid practical trial day.
Pay: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour
