We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Grounds & Watercraft Maintenance Officer to assist with the presentation, maintenance and operation of a waterfront holiday accommodation resort.
This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is comfortable working independently. No two days are the same, with duties ranging from watercraft operations and guest assistance to groundskeeping and general maintenance.
The Role
Hours will vary depending on occupancy levels, maintenance requirements, weather conditions and watercraft bookings.
Watercraft Operations & Maintenance
- Delivering, cleaning, fueling and maintaining a pontoon boat
- Assisting guests with boat hire and watercraft use
- Maintaining kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and related equipment
- Ensuring all watercraft are presented to a high standard and ready for guest use
Grounds & Property Presentation
- Pressure washing and cleaning common areas
- Cleaning balconies, windows and outdoor furniture
- Maintaining pavers, pathways and external areas
- Assisting with the overall presentation of the property and facilities
General Maintenance
- Carrying out minor repairs within accommodation units and common areas
- Replacing fixtures and fittings such as door handles, toilet roll holders and similar items
- Identifying maintenance issues and reporting or coordinating repairs where required
- Assisting with preventative maintenance projects and routine property upkeep
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- A current Driver's Licence
- A current Boat Licence or willingness to obtain one
- Experience in boat handling and/or watercraft maintenance (desirable)
- Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman, building, resort or facilities maintenance role
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach
- High attention to detail and pride in maintaining a well-presented property
- A friendly and professional manner when interacting with guests, owners and contractors
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
- Physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual work safely
- Experience using hand and power tools

Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
