Burke Shire Council is seeking a capable and safety-focused Airport Officer to manage the operations of Burketown and Gregory Airports.
As the designated Airport Manager and Aerodrome Reporting Officer, you will oversee airport operations and maintenance, regulatory compliance, NOTAM requirements, safety and emergency arrangements. You will also assist with servicing scheduled flights.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the safe, secure and compliant operation of both airports
- Performing Airport Manager and Aerodrome Reporting Officer duties
- Conducting aerodrome serviceability inspections
- Initiating, reviewing and cancelling NOTAMs
- Maintaining the Aerodrome Manual and regulatory records
- Coordinating airport maintenance, contractors and inspections
- Assisting with scheduled flight turnaround services
- Participating in an after-hours on-call roster
What We’re Looking For
- A current Class C Driver Licence
- Aerodrome Reporting Officer training, or the ability and willingness to obtain it
- An ASIC, or the ability to obtain one
- Sound knowledge of airport operations, CASA requirements and MOS Part 139
- Strong communication, organisational and computer skills
- The ability to work independently and respond calmly to operational issues
- Flexibility to work outside standard hours when required

- Indicative total remuneration package of $110,000 – $120,000 per annum, comprising base salary, superannuation, locality allowance, annual leave loading and estimated on-call allowances. Additional overtime and call-out payments may apply. The final package will depend on individual circumstances and roster participation.
