About the Opportunity
We’re seeking a motivated SUBSAFE Improvement Technical Officer to support the ongoing performance and enhancement of ASC’s SUBSAFE Program. Working closely with the SUBSAFE Program Improvement Manager, this role focuses on driving continuous improvement, strengthening compliance, and enhancing operational effectiveness across submarine sustainment activities.
You will play a key role in developing and delivering improvement initiatives, supporting training programs, and ensuring systems, tools and processes meet the required standards for SUBSAFE work. This role provides broad exposure across engineering, operations and supply chain teams, contributing to the safe and effective delivery of submarine capability.
Responsibilities
- Support development and delivery of the SUBSAFE Improvement Program aligned to organisational and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance, efficiency and compliance across SUBSAFE activities.
- Develop and deliver training programs to build capability across ASC and supplier stakeholders.
- Monitor and support resolution of corrective actions and business improvement requests.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
- Track performance metrics and report on effectiveness of improvement and training initiatives.
- Support integration of new technologies and innovative solutions to strengthen SUBSAFE outcomes.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant standards, regulations and governance frameworks.
About you
- Background in safety, compliance, governance or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with quality, certification, safety or environmental management systems.
- Demonstrated experience delivering continuous improvement initiatives in complex environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence in compliance‑focused roles.
- Experience developing or delivering training programs.
- Strong communication and instructional skills, with a focus on safety and quality outcomes.
- Analytical and structured approach, with the ability to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- Comfortable working across multiple teams within a complex project or operational environment.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
