The Opportunity
Banks Bulldogs FC is seeking expressions of interest from an enthusiastic, committed and people-focused coach to lead the club's inaugural Women's Premier League team in the 2026/27 NTFL season.
This is a genuine opportunity to establish a new Premier League program from the ground up. The successful applicant will help shape the program's identity, football standards and culture while developing athletes and building a sustainable pathway for women's football at Banks Bulldogs FC.
Played from October to March, the NTFL attracts athletes, coaches, recruiters and football people from across Australia. The Women's Premier League regularly features players with AFLW, state league, interstate and high-level community football experience, providing a strong platform for an ambitious coach to lead and grow.
About the Role
The Head Coach will lead the Women's Premier League training and match-day program and work closely with the Football Director, club committee, assistant coaches, team staff and athletes to build a safe, inclusive, professional and competitive football environment.
The program's regular training nights are Monday and Wednesday. The successful applicant will be expected to conduct two to three training sessions per week as required, attend all matchdays and contribute to the broader development of the inaugural program.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead two to three training sessions per week, including the club's Monday and Wednesday training nights, together with match-day preparation and game-day coaching.
- Establish a clear playing style, program identity and standards for the inaugural Women's Premier League team.
- Build a positive, inclusive and professional team environment that supports player wellbeing, improvement and accountability.
- Support responsible player recruitment, retention and development, with a strong focus on local athlete pathways.
- Work with the Football Director on list planning, squad selection, assistant coach appointments and team staff requirements.
- Develop and support assistant coaches and help build a capable, connected football department.
- Agree and work towards realistic KPIs across team performance, athlete development, standards, retention, culture and compliance.
- Ensure the program operates within club and league requirements, including APPS, TPP, concussion, injury and heat management obligations.
- Represent Banks Bulldogs FC and the NTFL professionally with athletes, families, volunteers, opponents, officials and stakeholders.
Essential Criteria
- Current AFL Silver Level coaching accreditation (formerly Level 2), or evidence the accreditation will be completed before commencing the role.
- Current Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
- Previous coaching experience in women's football.
- Strong football knowledge and the ability to plan and deliver quality training, preparation and match-day coaching.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people, build trust, communicate clearly and set consistent standards.
- Commitment to player development, athlete safety, wellbeing, inclusion and appropriate coach-athlete boundaries.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a committee-led community football club and contribute to agreed team and program KPIs.
- Availability to attend regular Monday and Wednesday training sessions, additional sessions where required, and matchdays.
- Willingness to operate within all Banks Bulldogs FC, AFLNT and NTFL governance, integrity and compliance requirements.
Desirable Criteria
- Current AFL Gold Level coaching accreditation, or actively working towards Gold Level accreditation.
- Previous senior coaching experience in the NTFL, state league, talent pathway, elite community or high-performance football environments.
- Experience building, strengthening or launching a new or developing football program.
- Experience developing assistant coaches and building effective team support structures.
- Strong football networks and an ability to attract and retain athletes responsibly within APPS and TPP requirements.
- Experience coaching in summer, wet-season, heat or humidity conditions.

Banks Bulldogs FC is committed to running a safe, compliant and well-governed Women's Premier League program. The Head Coach will be expected to uphold:
- Approved Player Points System (APPS) and Total Player Payments (TPP) requirements.
- AFL and AFLNT concussion, injury and heat management requirements.
- Safe training and match-day environments, athlete wellbeing and appropriate professional boundaries.
- Club values, codes of conduct, child safety requirements and league rules.
