About the role
Quality Air is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Service & Repair Manager to lead our service operations and drive excellence across our technical team. This is a full-time position based in Morningside QLD 4170, where you will oversee the day-to-day management of our air conditioning service and repair operations, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This role is pivotal in maintaining Quality Air's reputation for quality workmanship and reliable service delivery.
What you'll be doing
- Managing and supervising a team of air conditioning technicians and service engineers to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery
- Scheduling and coordinating service calls, maintenance appointments and emergency repairs to optimise resource allocation and customer satisfaction
- Conducting quality inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies
- Diagnosing and resolving complex air conditioning and refrigeration issues, providing technical guidance to team members
- Managing customer relationships, responding to enquiries and addressing complaints professionally and promptly
- Maintaining accurate records of service work, parts inventory and equipment maintenance
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental regulations in all service operations
- Preparing reports on service performance, team productivity and maintenance trends for management review
- Training and mentoring team members to develop their technical skills and professional competencies
What we're looking for
- Recognised qualification or certification in air conditioning and refrigeration installation, service or repair, such as an ARC (Australian Refrigeration Council) licence
- Minimum 3 years' experience in air conditioning service and repair work, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity
- Comprehensive knowledge of various air conditioning systems, including split systems, ducted systems, commercial units and refrigeration equipment
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop technical staff
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently
- Proficiency in using service management software and computer systems for scheduling, record-keeping and reporting
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the service area for site visits and inspections
- Outstanding customer service skills with a commitment to delivering exceptional service experiences
- Strong organisational and time management abilities to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and best practices within the trades and services industry
- Preferred experience in managing service team budgets and controlling operational costs
